Meet the Guides Behind
Your Unforgettable Safari
Every safari we run is led by a certified Tanzanian guide — born here, trained here, and passionate about sharing the magic of Tanzania's wild places with the world.

Born and raised in Arusha in the shadow of Mount Meru, Baraka has spent the last 18 years guiding travellers through Tanzania's most extraordinary landscapes. He began as a junior ranger at Tarangire National Park. Today he leads our flagship Serengeti and Great Migration itineraries — and every client he takes out comes back wanting more.

Raised in Moshi, Neema grew up watching Kilimanjaro from her doorstep. A TWMA-certified mountain guide and wilderness first-aider, she holds a 94% summit success rate across all five major routes — the highest in our team. Her patient, encouraging style is why clients call her "the guide who makes you believe you can."

From Karatu on the Ngorongoro Crater rim, Juma grew up knowing the wildlife rhythms of the caldera like his own heartbeat. A TTB-licensed guide with an Ecology degree from Sokoine University, he turns every game drive into a masterclass. For travellers who want to understand — not just see — Tanzania's wildlife, Juma is the guide you want.

From Monduli, Amina grew up between two worlds — Maasai tradition and modern Arusha. That bicultural background makes her our most requested guide for cultural immersion and photographic safaris. Fluent in four languages including Arabic and Japanese, she is a trailblazer and the first female lead guide at Affordable International Travel.

A former biology teacher from Moshi who swapped the classroom for the savannah after leading a school trip to Chemka Hot Springs — and never looked back. Daudi brings a teacher's precision to every tour: every stop has a story, every landscape has a lesson. His infectious energy makes him the top-rated guide for our day trips and Kilimanjaro foothills adventures.

The Experts Writing Our Safari Guides
Every article on our blog is written by a named Tanzanian expert — someone who lives, works, and breathes the subject they are writing about. No outsourced content. No AI blog posts.

Zawadi grew up in Karatu on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater and has spent 14 years as a licensed field guide — leading over 900 clients across the Serengeti, Tarangire, and Ngorongoro. A graduate of the College of African Wildlife Management in Mweka, he writes from the field, not from a desk. If he recommends a game drive timing or a park route, it is because he has done it that way himself.

Born in Moshi with Kilimanjaro as his backdrop, Tumaini summited his first mountain as a porter at 19 and has not stopped since. Eleven years and 108 successful guided summits later, he holds a TWMA mountain guide licence and a Wilderness First Responder certification — one of only a handful of guides in the Moshi region to carry both. His writing is built from the mountain up, not from the internet down.

Rehema is the Operations Manager at Affordable International Travel — the person behind every confirmed booking, every lodge contract, and every park permit. She negotiates directly with camps across the Northern Circuit, manages TANAPA fee payments, and handles the supplier relationships that determine whether a safari actually runs as promised. She knows what Tanzania safaris cost at every budget level because she quotes them every single day.
